BANG! Another broken boot remover. I think we (ok I) have broken 5 of these of various types over the last 6 years. I probably need to get an “industrial” one. Any one know one that I can’t bust? . . . #boot #broken #garden #gardening #gardentools #vegetablegarden
Six on Saturday post on my blog. I had a lovely walk in the woods and spring is on the way. Link in bio. . . . #sixonsaturday #spring #aconite #snowdrops #ivy #arrumlilly #moss #daffodils #dogwalks
I am going to the community orchard today. Trees to prune and grafting to do. I sharpened the secateurs and oiled them. I love this time of year. Preparing the trees and making new trees for the future. We are slowly filling the community orchard with Gloucestershire varieties of trees. . . . #appletree #peartree #orchard #pruning #pruningseason #community #communityproject #spring
Another good sourdough bake. Rye starter and white flour but I also added in 150g of bread crumbs made form the stale ends of the previous loaves. But I forgot the salt 🤦🏻‍♂️ It looks great but the taste is a bit flat. . . . #sourdough #sourdoughstarter #sourdoughbread #homebaking #homemade #homemadebread
Cold and frosty morning here. There is still kale and chard to eat. . . . #frostymorning #icy #kale #chard #growyourown #growyourownfood #growyourfood #grownfromseed #vegetables #vegetablegarden #kitchengarden
Snow drops in the woods today. I took the dog out this morning. The fields and wood were wet and boggy. So the dog had to have a bath when we got back 🐕 But it did feel like spring was in the air. . . . #snowdrops #dogwalking #woodlandwalk #countrywalk #spring
Amaryllis is looking good. Has anyone got a tip for how to care for it so it flowers again next year? . . . #amaryllis #flowers #houseplants
Super simple vegetarian mushroom polenta. Thanks to @ottolenghi and Plenty. Great book that makes vegetables the star of any dish. . . . #vegetarianrecipes #vegetarianfood #mushrooms #polenta #meatfree #delicioussupper #delicious
Very happy with my Scandinavian inspired sourdough rye bread. Tastes rich and deeply savoury. 100% rye sourdough starter, 50% rye and 50% white flour with dark treacle and caraway seeds. The dough texture was very different to one with more white or whole meal flours. . . . #sourdough #sourdoughbread #sourdoughrye #sourdoughryebread #sourdoughstarter #ryesourdoughstarter #homemade #homebaker #homebaked #scandinavianstyle #scandinavianbread
Parsnips! I think they are my favourite winter vegetable. Last summer was so dry they didn’t grow big. So instead of roast it I am making soup. . . . #parsnip #parsnips #parsnipsoup #winter #soup #growyourownveg #vegetablegarden #growwhatyoueat #kitchengarden #homegrown #homemade
